Season 2 adventures
Original IP · Comedy & childhood adventure
Clitheroe, Lancashire. The early 1980s.
Big ideas. Little brother.
Guess who gets the blame.
Meet Leon: a mischief maker with a loyal heart and a knack for turning spare parts into an adventure. He fixes bikes, builds go-karts and sledges, flies homemade kites and dreams up contraptions that absolutely ought to work.
His younger brother Mark has an idea of his own: let Leon do the hard work. With a butter-wouldn’t-melt smile, a new money-making scheme and an older brother to carry the lot, Mark is always ready to stand back, pass judgement and let Leon take the fall.
And when it all goes wrong, one shout rings out across the house…
“LEON!!”The big brother
Leon makes it happen.
Scruffy, inventive and dependable when it counts. Leon may be drawn to fire, fireworks and a little too much excitement, but he’s the brother you can rely on. Even when Mark volunteers him for the heavy lifting.
The little brother
Mark saw it coming. Apparently.
An angelic face, an eye for a profit and a talent for escaping the consequences. Mark puts Leon to work as his packhorse, sets him up for trouble and throws him under the bus at every opportunity.
“That’ll never work.” “I told you so.”
The voice of the household
Mum knows exactly
who to shout for.
Muddy footprints. Another contraption. Mark looking positively angelic. Whatever’s happened, Mum’s legendary “LEON!!” is never far away—and Leon is usually left explaining himself.
Around Clitheroe
A childhood full of bright ideas
and very familiar trouble.
Leon builds. Mark supervises.
A few spare wheels, a pile of wood and another of Leon’s bright ideas. Mark already knows why it won’t work.
Downhill from here.
Homemade sledges, a snowy hill and two brothers discovering that getting going was the easy part.
There’s always another idea.
Bikes, kites, contraptions and mischief: give Leon a free afternoon and he’ll find something to make—or mend.
An adventure too far.
Curiosity gets the brothers into a scrape. Somehow, Leon can already hear who’s going to get the blame.
